Fake real plants (please help!)?
Ok, well, I have a 20 gallon aquarium with plants forge a 8 Black Phantom Tetras (going to add 5 guppies) and a zebra snail. I want to get rid of fake plants and driftwood to get real plants and rocks, but I have some questions: Is my snail kill everything ( plants), I can have plants and a snail make together? I have to put something in the sand? I do not drink the water or fish out, "I can get out of fertilizer and water in the tank? "I can put driftwood in a tank that is already built? if so, what do I have to do to driftwood to make it safe? Do I have to get different lighting? I have the light of my team of 60 gallons in my 20 gallons. I liike plant Java Fern (Microsorum pteropus), Moss Balls (Aegagropila Chladophora) Anubias nana, any good beginner other plants? Java Fern will be fine with half light insted of low? Thanks! (Not have to answer everything, but I need help)
Oh my, what a mouthful! I will answer them all, to make you happy. 1. Their shells do not kill aquatic plants, as they are true aquatic plants (Be careful of some plants that are above ground, and sold in aquarium shops!) However, if you have pond snails (usually not in the establishment aquarium), they will eat everything in sight. However, most aquarium snails are apple / mystery snails, etc. 2.You do not have to put any fertilizer in gravel, unless you are keeping very sensitive plants (not recommended.) stakes are nutrients available in your local fish store, you can stick close plants (On gravel), and slowly release nutrients. The natural nitrate (not nitrite, which is toxic) in your aquarium fertilize all plants. 3. Yes, putting pieces of wood in any aquarium makes a great centerpiece, which is not particularly necessary to prepare, if sold for use in aquariums. If you are unsure, soaked in a bucket of water for 1 hour, and you can even boil for 2 minutes if necessary to kill bacteria. Driftwood can stain your aquarium the first time to add, but coal is removed discoloration. 4.Unless light is too bright, no bother. Plants need light! Plant photosynthesis (CO2 Oxygen Exchange) is carried out only when there is light. A more powerful light just means … You can add more plants! However, if you find that the seaweed is always the case, then you should reduce the light. 5.Good plants suitable for almost any amateur (freshwater) are polysperma (Hygro), Wisteria, Java Fern (as you Siad), and Java Moss (good for fry newborns, too) 6.Yes, however high the light, their leaves may burn, plant in the shade of other plants. The fern can be attached to the driftwood with rubber bands, after a month, will be firmly rooted, remove the bands …. Wow, that was really a bite anyway, hope that helps, (and perhaps this is the best answer? Just a thought …) Good luck, and Happy Fish (and plants) Keeping!
