I'm still doing a fishless cycle … status for some time, I am master of all modes using the API test kit. Well, I have the ammonia around 5 ppm and its been there for quite some time. PH is 7.4 and 5.15 auqatech filter full performance runs 150 watt heater set at 30 degrees celcius bubble wand wide and a head of power. all in a ten gallon tank lightly planted with the level of 5 ppm ammonia. but nothing is spending two weeks in the cycle. : (I'm so frustrated at this point i just want to break this thing apart. Please help me! oh yeah, no nitrite and nitrate did not
It seems that your filter bacteria is not fully aware of everything. One way to speed things is to make some good bacteria in the filter of a disease free tank of fuel and it works fine. If you have another tank or know someone close, remove the filter from the other tank, immersion in the foam filter (or whatever you use the media) in a cup with some water from the same tank. Within 30 minutes (while still good bacteria alive) immersion in the foam filter in the same cup of water. This would have transferred some bacteria needed and within a few days, you should be all set: Final. Note unless the intention to maintain disc or one of the few species that require very hot water, why did you choose 30 ° C? Most fish do better at slightly lower temperatures – such as 24-25 ° C. The oxygen content in the shallow water when the temperature rises 30 degrees and the fish is standing right below the surface because there is insufficient oxygen available.
