how long can u keep a uromastyx in a 20 gallon tank
Well, newborns can be in 10 gallon tanks, then juveniles should be bumped up to about a 20 gallon. Uromastyx need lots of space to run around, they will be much happier this way. An adult uromastyx needs to have the bare minimum of a 40 gallon tank. Preferably a 55 gallon +. Always remember that there is no such thing as a tank that is too small and reptiles with more space have been proven to live longer, happier lives.
Since it takes several years for a uromastyx to reach sexual maturity, you are going to have to eyeball when the tank needs to be upgraded. The tank should be at least 2x larger than your lizard, so once your uromastyx gets to that point, you will have to immediately upgrade the tank.
So again, depending on age, a newborn uromastyx can spend a few years inside of a 20 gallon tank. I hope that I was of some help.
Best of luck! (:
