Do I need an air valve?
I have a gallon freshwater aquarium 75, with severums, Geophagus and danios few. I thought merger would be good to get an air pump for moving water and you would like more enjoyable too. Their is a check valve air directions, but is sold separately. I decided to just set up the pump without it. Make absolutely the need for this valve?
no, but if the power goes out helps keep water from going backwards into the pump and ruin it.
