homemade co2 for aquarium …?
I just did a homemade co2 for my 55 gallon tank, but my question … is producing a bubble of CO2 and coming out every 2 or 3 seconds and goes immediately to the surface. Is this release of CO2 in the tank or is just being released at the surface and my two plants are not absorbed? Also how this generator is enough and how many plants I can have generator.
According to John Z. You need something to break the bubble of CO2 large in much smaller to improve the ability to dissolve in water. Let it rise directly to the surface is 100% waste. There are many types CO2 diffusers. The one shown in the link of John is very effective because the white color ceramic disc produces very fine bubbles. To maximize efficiency, either directly leaving the filter in the bubbles to circulate around the tank, or let the bubbles get sucked into the filter input (can cause hiccups air filter cartridge). Also cylindrical sealed units where there is both the entry of CO2 and the filter that goes inside the CO2 is supposed to be dissolved by the action of water stirring around in the cylinder and there is no possibility of escape of CO2. If the lighting in your CO2 tank and well, ideally you should see the visible signs of photosynthesis through the production of many small bubbles of oxygen in the leaves of your plants. Truly a wonderful show in a planted tank, along with hundreds of glass beads mini underwater. DIY CO2 is a bit of trial and error to get the correct settings for your deposit. Unless you have a tank planted very large or very large extent, it is not necessary anymore a generator, but for large tanks maybe you should consider CO2 pressure, but that is quite expensive. If you have 2 generators on site opposite corners, no harm trying another generator from your tank is big enough. But controlling the pH level constant, especially for effects in fish. For CO2 generation, playing with the amount of yeast to use, more CO2 means more yeast at first, but the supply is depleted faster. In addition, they your settings have a check valve and a separator to prevent dirt from flowing yeast in your tank.
