external or internal filter aquarium is better?

I have a tank of 50 liters / basic configuration. With a (Aqaue world) 300L / H internal filter. Also I have a little air pumnp turns me on from time to time. I have a decent sized fish barramundi in it, and I know that fish are dirty, and my tank is over or less finshing is cycling. However, my tank is just not a crystal clear clean. browny cloundy find its place. So I was just woundering if a greater say 500L / H filter would be better than 300L / H and I have. But inside or outside what?

Umm … yep it would be better external pump 500L / H one. Umm Cowboys good, with the swans.
