How to clean the aquarium filter pipes?

I have a 2232 Ehiem external filter and I think it could do with being cleanedout and cleaning of all Pipe … How I can clean the inside of the tubes? Obviously you dont get enough pipe cleaners time and I know I can not use clening products.

I know what I mean I have an external filter also! Here is my solution! I tie the two ends of a bottle brush (pipe cleaners are never thick enough) to long pieces of plastic pipe for washing, (goes through a chain easier and not stick to the sides) which are then fed through pipeline. Then pull the brush back and forth across the tube! Then pour some old tank water in the tube and rinse off any residue and scrub of algae without damaging the pipe. Works on all pipelines, including those with holes that sit inside the tank! That reminds me …………. The Mine is due for a cleaning and scouring out again!
