A filter housing must be under the tank?
I just bought a 65-gallon tank for my 7 years RES months and I am thinking of buying a box filter. The problem is that the tank is sitting on the floor and I read that the filter passes beneath the tank. "I can put the filter on the ground next to the tank or have to be under the tank?
You can put next to the tank, but with the way the filter system up, it's easier either behind or below it. There will be a tube from each side of the aquarium to the filter … if you have a hand, you may need to seek a longer tube to one side.
