What size tank with heater is appropriate for a California king snake?

I just got a young California king snake and ends buy one of these kits snake habitat for all living beings. The kit includes habitat under tank heater and wondered if it was the right size for enclosure of the snake (I have a 29 gallon aquarium that has a footprint of 30×12). I've heard from different sources that children under tank heater should cover 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 of the bottom of the aquarium. Is this correct?

if it came with the kit you have, then you should be fine, just make sure your just beneath the skin of the snake box on the warm side … Good luck hope this helped … with new snake =)
