fish tank lighting question?

I just got a bell in a garage sale, it came with a UVB bulb that said for sole use reptile, I was curious as to if I could use this bulb in my tank or if it would go out and drop the lot of money on a new bulb.

You can not use the UV lamp for fish, is a heat lamp, which is used to simulate the tropical heat of the reptiles and as such, will be absolutely no good at all to fish. It will heat the water and raise the temperature too high to fish. You need to buy a tube that is designed to fish.
