I can do a cover for an aquarium 10 gallon timber?

Hi all, I wondered if I could make a wooden lid fitted tightly to my 10 gallon aquarium. I have a female rat that I would put there for now, because I think she might be pregnant. I took a little over two weeks I met a friend online and I did not think it is pregnant, although the rat was in a tank with a male rat for two days, but she said she did not see do anything … (Not so sure about that because your belly is getting too big). Anyway, I have a pile of wood and wondered if I could make a cover out of it, a hole in the water bottle that I have that may slip into a hole and yes. Also many of drilling holes in breathing, etc. So, what do you think? An idea can be done or not?
