What should I use to cover my filter?

This question is for anyone who owns a Bio cube aquarium. I can use my 29 liter fish tropical, but the problem is once in a while a fish swims in the area of the engine and was chopped into pieces. I just made a widget with an old Tupperware lid and saran wrap. I do not know what else to do b / c I have to do water can still flow. Any suggestions? Step by step instructions would help. Thanks!

I have a bucket of Bio. Are you talking about the slots in the back of the tank to drink? If so, any hardware store will sell the plastic mesh used for doors and how to stop mosquitoes and other insects. Cut the appropriate size and use some silicon to stick it in place. In my cube I seahorses Bio I had to do this when they began to mate and give birth.
