How to build a 12v LED 24 hours of sleep timer and regulations for reef aquarium?

Hi I need help, I'm going to build my own lighting system for my aquarium. I will use the energy of 12v LED high, they each have their own food. I would like a timer 24 hours inside and outside perhaps more tenuous up and down at the end of the period. Does anyone know how to build a timer so I could program. thanks j

The easiest way is with a microcontroller that has an RTC or RTC interrupt driven by a clock oscillator. The work would be in software to be divided into three "modules" The first is the RTC, which simply increments a counter each cycle crystal oscillator (either directly or party by). Increasing combat master clock every second (32,768 clock cycles), which runs minute / second / hour / meter day. The second is the counter of time, after a series of RTC, we compare the adjustment of the RTC timer, and if true, performs the action that is setting the timer stops. The third would be slope, which would make the LED with PWM, based on the parameters set in time.
