How long should I wait to put my goldfish back into water after the addition of chlorine / ammonia murderer of tap water?
Simply gallon tank filled with a little tap water, but I know it's not good for the fish to just plop them in it, so I bought some ammonia / chlorine material murderer (Brand: Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, "Stress Coat of fish and running water conditioning). My question is, how long should I wait to put the fish in water, after adding things? I'm sure that probably stirred a bit, too, right? Also, yes, I know that there should be in a 1 gallon container, but I will not be able to buy the tank itself until tomorrow. Please help! : D
Your fish is still in a bag? If so, you get used to the temperature of float. After about 15 minutes or less (depending on the temperature change), should be fine for add. The chemicals that destroy chlorine and chloramines almost instantly. I use a system that takes water from my sink and bombs, add the dechlorinator in the tank as I do. Chlorine kills slowly, it is not an instant death. Therefore, assuming you have the proper amount of cleaner, you should not have to worry. Add the product chemicals before the water in the future, so the natural flow of water in the container mixture.
