If you put a Pleco or shrimp you'll find further deposits in the sand! I have to Hoover until after my Pleco every day. Pleco also a lack of fine sand in the filter mechanism. Plecos are large producers of waste. Camarón poop constant, small small caca-brown bricks, surprising amount of dirt coming out of my shrimp tank. Nothing eats poop, and if it did, it would just poop out again. Use a syringe to aspirate any obvious lumps, that's what I use in my tank Pleco. That's all you can do. The addition of another animal will not solve the problem.
