Aquarium old cleaning powder?
Anyone have a 55 gallon aquarium and offered me support. It is almost 25 years old and although I only live it is spiders and dust, saved in a garage. Not sure if glass or plastic stuff, and there are scratches (scratches disappear said with water in the tank) and accumulate in white inside the aquarium. I would like to get it cleaned and polished. What is the best way to go about this? No hurry to reach transferd fish so I would like to take my time and do well. Also if you know of any specific product, please give me the name. Tank is configured as two 25-gallon tanks stood tall, with two large cylinders connect to the center, so that fish can swim between the two parties. This may complicate things. I'm not sure if it leaks or not. I think it's all molded in one piece so it could not be any sealant, but if you do i drain leaks can be sealed only with something?
First things first, if there are leaks along the seams, you can seal with sealant silicone available in most pet shops large. That's easy. Fill the tank with water at some outdoor location to prove he can handle the pressure of the water and not leaking. These things can get old and crusty over time, and besides you could bust if they do not do a full review. If possible, do it in a place where they receive direct sunlight because it will help kill anything / everything that is wrong with the tank. As the reality of clean, go with almost boiling water, bleach solution to 10%, or specific products tank. Seri clean, washed gravel, easy to clean or lime remover are all small bottle products available from specialty retailers in the aquarium (such just the sell, there are plenty more) that have a specific purpose in cleaning your tank. In general, however, I discovered the hot water and mix bleach works wonders when left to soak, and more thorough cleaning. Lime remover may be necessary depending on the amount of crisp white matter is built along the top of the tank. See how you go with the chlorine in the first place, it is much cheaper. Just be sure to rinse the tank out well after the whitening treatments! Aesthetically it should be in top shape. The scratches will fade over the water, no doubt, and when it gets good fish, gravel, plants Shopping in which no one will notice the scratches. Keep the tank away from a lot of direct light, however, such as scratches, are some top of the algae grows, and it is difficult to get out of there once it really takes hold. Start with these things, and you have a large tank in no time. Greetings fellow.
