This information will help the new owners of freshwater aquarium tank to maintain a clean and healthy. These first two questions are key to keep the aquarium allowing you to enjoy this beautiful addition to your home.
When do I clean my tank? You should clean your tank once every two months unless we can say that needs to be cleaned before that date. Why should I clean the tank once every two months? Because your tank will start building algae in the interior and keep the waste gravel that could cause sick fish in the future.
The following steps are easy and quick and will give aquarium fish with a clean and happy.
Step 1 (preparing for cleaning)
You have to prepare for the next steps before removing the fish from your aquarium freshwater. There are some supplies you will need to clean the tank, so it is better to have on hand before starting. You need some sort of container that fish can be placed until it is time for them to be put back into the tank. It need not be a large bowl, but make sure the fish have sufficient space for swimming freely. This container is dependent on the amount of fish that live in the tank. You will also need a fishing net, a towel or paper towels to clean any spill that may occur, a water jug or bucket to fill the tank, food drainer, a clean sponge and a clean cloth. Having gathered these things, you is ready to begin cleaning your freshwater aquarium.
Step 2 (Removing fish)
This may be the most important step in the cleaning process. It is time to remove the fish tank. The first thing to do is make sure the container where you put the fish has water that is approximately the same temperature in the tank otherwise the fish will go into shock. When the water container is ready, use the net to catch each fish, one by one and placed in the container. Once all the fish are collected, be sure to place the container in a safe place where it was spilled. It is common for fish become stressed when moved, so the water temperature and reduction of unnecessary activity is therefore very important.
Step 3 (removal of water fish tanks of age)
When all the fish are out of the tank, it's time to start emptying the water tank. Using the jar or small bucket, begin to remove the water. The water tank may be disposed in a sink or toilet. This can be a messy, so be sure to clean up spills to avoid possible accidents. No need to remove all water from the tank. Most owners Freshwater Aquarium remove about 3 / 4 of water. The original remaining water will help acclimate the new water will be added later.
Step 3 (extraction and cleaning their tanks with gravel)
Most of the waste collected in a tank that sits in the gravel at the bottom. It is very important to clean the gravel to clean your tank. At this point you remove the gravel. You can use the fishing net, a teaspoon or even a shovel to do this. Place the gravel in a container. Once have removed all the gravel, transfer to a filter of some sort and run it under hot water. Be sure to mix while washing for all sediments and waste is eliminated. Once the gravel has been cleaned up, put it aside. You are not going to put back into the tank at this time.
Step 4 (tank cleaning)
Now is the time to clean the inside of the tank. This can be tedious if you have a lot of buildup on the glass. Some freshwater aquariums have growth algae on the glass. The warmer the water inside the aquarium and the more exposed to natural sunlight, the algae growth will be. This can be cleaned using a notebook. Try using less abrasive pad can to avoid scratching the class. Washing with warm water helps in removing the algae. Sure never use any kind of cleaner or detergent to clean the tank. This is fatal to fish. After removing the algae, finally, passing through the rest of the tank a towel or soft cloth. You may have to repeat this a few times. Try to wash the cloth or towel frequently to remove all residue. If you have decorative in the tank, be sure to wash and use hot water. After completing these steps, the tank must be cleaned of debris and accumulations.
Step 5 (put it all back together)
Now is the time to change everything. Start by replacing the gravel in the tank, followed by groundwater recharge. Note the temperature again. Try adding water is the same temperature as the original water in the tank. Add your finishing touches with decorative pieces, then carefully move the fish back in. It may take a little time for fish to adapt to the new water, but after all these steps, you can be sure the tank is clean and healthy.
You do not have to completely clean the tank for another 2 months. Always remember to change the filter if dirty. As an added tip, if you remove 20% of water each month and replace it with clean water, this will reduce cleaning tank full in the future. To maintain a healthy tank, it is important to clean it properly and keep up with the care of the aquarium. Thus ensuring a long life of your fish and enjoyable experience for observers.
