Using RO / DI for freshwater aquarium:?

Here are my water parameters in my tank that I used 50% and 50% tap ro / di on. The reservoir was created only recently and in the process of the bike now. Ammonia: (very high source of ammonia original only) left me untested, because they do not see the need. Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 0 kH: 75 ppm or 4 degrees pH: 8.2 phosphate: not tested so far, I have a test computer. Now my Ro / Di water absolutely neutral in all respects to one side of pH. Is very low in pH but attribute this fact to the carbonic acid that forms when I breathe in it. So I can use Ro / Di just for this tank? Mike G, you get 10 points. What am I thinking?

This depends on the fish are holding. RO / DI water will almost contains no minerals, or alkalinity, resulting in a very low pH can fall lower. It is best to mix it with the right amount of tap water to meet the conditions we are targeting. For example, if you are keeping wild-caught or Apistogramma disc that could easily get away with straight RO / DI, and let the pH reached as low as it wants. However, if you want to do something like African Cichlids Rift Lake, half of the media mix seems to do very well. And I agree, some of the responses here are completely absurd. What is more absurd is the asker is a choice, and often chooses the answer he wanted to hear … many times, absurd.
