Aquariums 100 Gallons

Step by step to a larger aquarium

As a beginner, most people start in the aquarium hobby with a small deposit in the range 10 to 20 gallons. This is generally a good idea to test the waters (no pun intended). As a person gets more involved in keeping fish, the time will reinforce a freshwater aquarium sized.

Medium size is a relative term, but I consider that this is an aquarium the range of 40 to 75 gallons. Once established, a larger tank is actually a little easier to maintain, as it tends to be more stable. A body of water Bigger is not as exposed to sudden changes in water quality or temperature. However, there are some things to consider when moving to a larger tank.

The first thing to consider is location, and specifically the structural integrity of the intended location for the tank. A 10 gallon tank with gravel, water, and the stand weighs a little over 100 pounds. By contrast, a 75-gallon tank filled and placed on a stand with high resistance (which is essential) weighing about 900 pounds. One big difference: If you have any question with the stability of the floor, find a different place.

If you are setting the new larger tank as replacement of the smaller tank, they realize that the filter you ran the smaller tank will not be powerful enough to run the tank over large. Buy a new filter is properly sized for the size of the new tank (the score shall be recorded in the side of the filter housing).

Maintain the ideal temperature in a larger aquarium will probably be necessary to use two heaters, one at each end. A heater alone can not efficiently heat a tank that is over 4 feet long. Two small heaters that are located at opposite ends of the tank will provide a more uniform heat distribution This will lead to a better environment for fish.

Another point to consider is the number of fish you want to put in the tank again. Some people, walking in tank size, has the urge to buy too many fish way. Resist this impulse. In a larger tank the fish tend to grow bigger and then it was a number of small fish gets too many big fish. Overcrowding leads to all sorts of problems in the aquarium.

Maintaining an aquarium Bigger is not significantly more work, and in fact, if set correctly the largest reservoir in time may be a little easier to maintain. A tank largest opens up all sorts of wonderful possibilities and is an exciting step forward in the hobby of keeping fish.
