can water conditioner for aquariums / fish dishes used for water 'birds?
A friend of mine gave me a bottle of stress coat API, a water / tap water conditioner for aquariums. She says it is the same as water conditioners birds, only under another name. Is it really safe and suitable for my bird to drink? And even if the instructions do not help (it tells you how much to put in a tank!). How much should go into a small dish bird?
No need to put chemicals in the water. Tap water is perfectly adequate for the birds unless you have an emergency in which to dump the extra chlorine. If the chlorine you are trying to get rid of, just put some water in a glass jar and let stand for 24 hours. Chlorine to dissipate naturally. My birds have been drinking tap water for over 50 years.
