Starting a Freshwater Aquarium
Ordinary knowledge is not to bring the fish first in his home until after the security of your aquarium tank sweet first, and other things needed before you can actually bring these fish in their home.
Check the tank for leaks
Test your tank for leaks is very easy, just fill with water and see if the water in the tank for leaks in any way. If there is none, well, but his case is made of silicone sealant ready just would not leak. It is important to try again if he found an escape in order to check if the sealant the leak has sealed properly.
Decorate your aquarium
You are now ready to decorate your tank. In fact there is no restriction it. Just make sure that the composition of the decoration does not make drastic changes in water chemistry. As the substrate, choose one that can regulate water pH level of water effectively. Rinse all decorated with warm water first before finally putting in place.
Prepare all necessary equipment
Make sure each component is well positioned and working properly. Make sure no broken parts that might affect equipment properly. All electrical wiring must be properly grounded, and should be pretty safe from anything that can get wet. It is recommended that you apply water conditioners at this point to de-chlorinate the water for the initial development of much needed bacteria for biological filtration filters. After setting all necessary equipment, trying to convert all of them, as if there are fish in the tank, and check vital mistakes and correct them if necessary.
For Finally, the entire tank cycle
To let the aquarium is much needed beneficial bacteria. This process, known as cycling, can done by setting the chemistry of water needed for fish to survive, and this in turn can be done by taking a series of incremental steps over time.
Turn off all lights around the bowl, then add a few drops of pure ammonia in the water. Check if the water is about 5 ppm after 30 minutes of exposure. After a week, check the water chemistry again if nitrites have already begun to grow, and ammonia levels are below the levels of nitrite, then add more drops of ammonia. Wait again for a couple of weeks, and you will see the nitrate levels begin to grow. At this point, the tank is ready to grow the bacteria.
Change at least 25% of water in the tank, offset the amount of water evaporation and chemical loss. Again, wait a few weeks until you see a white cloud in the water, and wait disappears. Your tank has completed the entire process of cycling, and setting up your freshwater aquarium is complete.
This can be very time consuming if done from scratch, but you can always call your local hobby store, which will provide an already thriving tank with beneficial bacteria. This will certainly accelerate things.
