Salt Water Aquarium Overflow
I'm about to start a saltwater aquarium? Is this all I need?

So far I have; tank – 80 gallons (ordering soon) Protein Skimmer (100 gallons) Sump – 20 gallon submersible heater (heated to 90 gallons), a unit of power (1, but how many I need) Sal for 90 gallons hydrometer / Refractometer (do? These are electronically? I think I saw something online.) I have not received the deposit yet, but maybe someone can recommend or not to get the thing overflow and the number of holes drilled into it? Do I need a wet / dry filter? I missed something? Thanks. Anything that can make my life easier is appreciated:)

Its list is not bad. I recommend a pre-drilled reef ready tank. The incidence of flooding will be reduced dramatically. Do not even know to thank me for this suggestion, since they have not suffered floods overflow box I'm talking about. The skimmer you want for a tank 80g has to be more than one manufacturer available 100g skimmer. I would recommend Bermuda Aquatics BPS-3C (link below). 20g sump is very well. Just make sure you do not use all the transaction volume with water. You need to leave enough "slots" to accommodate the volume of water leaving above the screen during a blackout. Heating – use two for redundancy. This is the # 1 piece of equipment failure in our hobby. Use two 150w heaters. Technically all you need is a 300w heater alone, but the above statement will end sometime in the future. If the heater is not set to 'ON', that will cook your tank. If an error in the "Off" position, will drastically cold. Two small heaters (including two heaters 200w is fine), not enough to cook or freeze your individual tank. Together are more than enough to run your system. Consider a driver Ranco temperature in the future. Powerhead – You can spend a lot or little. You can get some that are able to create wave patterns, or some who simply move the water. I would recommend at least two in your tank. Koralia Koralia the 3 or 4 would be great and very affordable. Sal – the biggest debate in curls on the planet. Instant Ocean is widely accepted ….. but not fully recommended by me. Choose the one you can find locally. Buy the bucket of what you decide on. Be sufficient to contain the mixture of 150g to 200 g salt water. The need for regular water changes. Refractometer-not cheap here by purchasing a hydrometer. This is one of the most important you need to control. A refractometer is infinitely more reliable. Test Kits – Salifert does best, test kits affordable and efficient for the fans. You need ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH, calcium, alkalinity / hardness, magnesium. More than this is not really necessary, but is available if you want them. RO / DI water filter – Tap water contains high amount of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) that are cousins to cause algal blooms. If you get a TDS meter can put to test the tap water. Mine from the tap at 105 ppm. We want zero. 'Nuff said. Lighting – I could write a whole book about reef lighting. Depends what animals you want to keep. metal halide, T5, Powercompact (PC), LED, combination of MH and MH + T5 or PC is a great combination. Thermometer – The Pinpoint Wireless thermometer is very reliable. Return pump – Depending on the amount of vertical height that is pumping the water returning determine the size of pump you need. Remember, as water is pushed up vertically, and the friction of the pipe that is flowing through and the # accessories (elbows, unions, ball valves, etc) will reduce the flow is obtained through the discharge into the tank. A "PVC pipe overflow can handle no more than 600 gph. Therefore, you may need a 1000 gph pump to compensate for the vertical height of more back of the accessories used. Marineland Utility pumps are fantastic. I can list more things that you can use, the chamber of fluid media or phosban carbon, lighting controllers and heaters, monitors ORP, pH, nitrates, phosphates, and more. Do yourself a favor and do not under any circumstances use a wet / dry filter. Hope this helped swimmer
