If I use the sand as a substrate in my tank, how I can keep it clean?

And how exactly am I supposed to rinse it before use?

I put it in a big bucket in about 1 / 4 sand. fill with water and stir around hard, remove the dirty water. And that until the water is clean after swirl. I can use my vacuum cleaner in the sand but keep your finger in the trap for the sand gets too close to being sucked. It is reall very simple when you get the hang and a tank it looks great in the sand. Sandy also does not leave much set on what each couple of days I find the above vacuum cleaner to pick up more sand dirt.
